Appendix A Summary

    Appendix A summary here.

I agree with Appendix A’s explanation of the Internet and the World Wide Web because it helped me better understand something I use every day but never really thought deeply about. The Internet is described as a global network that allows computers to communicate with one another, and learning about its origins made me realize how intentionally it was designed to be reliable. Knowing that it was built to continue functioning even when parts of the network fail helped me appreciate how advanced and dependable it really is. The appendix also helped clear up my confusion between the Internet and the World Wide Web. Before reading this section, I honestly thought the two were the same thing. I now understand that the Web is just one service that runs on the Internet. I agree with the explanation of how browsers, URLs, and search engines work together because those tools make the Internet easy for people like me to use. Without them, finding information would be much more complicated and time-consuming. Overall, I agree with the appendix’s message that understanding how the Internet and the Web work is important for being a responsible user. The discussion about security and privacy stood out to me because those issues directly affect my daily life, especially with school, social media, and online accounts (examples). I play video games and manage both my bank and work accounts. Having a better understanding of how the Internet functions helps me feel more confident and aware when I am online, and it will continue to be important for my education, future career, and everyday life.
